PRAYERS

So many prayers are needed today. So much going on....I dont really refer to myself as politcal. I just have my own humble opinions...

Mother Nature is to be respected. Praying for relief to be sent to that country of Samoa and Indonesia. Praying for the wounded and the survivors that are now left with the insemountable task of dealing with this all.

Pres. Obama...has stepped into such a bee's nest. Pray for him to make the correct choices to guide this country into peace. As a wife of an active duty member...having all our husbands home safe is a priority for me and my family. But I know that sometimes decisions have to be made for the welfare,  for the majority of the people. Please pray to give him wisdom...I personally will be praying for Afghanistan and the withdrawing of our troops. We need to end this. I fear we this is another Vietnam in the making.

Prayers for a friend who is experiencing medical issues. Needs a CT ...sending healing thoughts.

Praying for my sailor and his men...

Its WEDNESDAY :)

Its my favorite day of the week. Wednesday. I am hoping for a nice calm and productive one. It may or may not be that way but we will see. Ahhhh....Its been a few days since I have *BLOGGED*...I find that word so funny. This is a bonafide way of keeping a personal journal just all high tech style. So far so good. Its been a nice way to discuss what happens in our life.

So we spent Sunday at church. I help the kindergarten class with CCD. Its been so much fun. I am enjoying it do far. Jim took James to look for Ads. No luck there and Marin went to CCD and she isnt enjoying it to much. She is ready for confirmation. They are growing up.

Monday was another duty day, Tuesday, I helped a good friend do Meals on Wheels. It took a few hours and we went to provide food for homebound elderly people. It was a good experience.  I really enjoyed it. It was so heartwarming anf fulfilling. I love being a servant of the Lord. I hope that I can continue to help Debbie with that. I know she has a regular aide but I expressed a desire to help anyway I can. Its hard because I still have Jonathon to pick up at 3 pm. These people need ANYONE who can come provide the basics of necessities. I am going to see if the council for aging has a closer area here in Yulee that I may be able to help out with. Marin had a game. YMS faced the Hilliard Flashes and they won 26-0. Go Hornets. I love that the cheerleaders support the band and vice versa. Its awesome. Nice to see. James is practicing for soccer. That starts soon too. Still on the job hunt...I am wishing him luck.

I watched Jimmy sleep last night. I keep thinking my eyes need to feast on him now. He is leaving in days and my heart is breaking. I am praying PRAYING that all the soldiers out there stay safe and return home soon. I was so happy that he enjoyed Jonathon's video to Walk Now for Autism Speaks. I spent 2 days working on it and I STILL cant combine the audio with the video but it looks as if that wont be long. At least I think so. But he loved it. He was moved and he cried. I just cried with him. Not the reaction I think that he would have. I was so proud. It must be Awesome...LOL. At least as Jon's parents we think so.

Today on the list...finish this laundry, cook dinner and maybe go to scrapbook and things again. My favorite store is closing its doors. Another scrapbook store bites the dust. So sad. The recession is killing everyone. Marin has dance tonight, so an early dinner needs to be done. Thats about it on the wed. agenda. I am praying for a nice peaceful day. I am praying for Jim to come home early and spend time with us. Its Wed. midweek...

Saturday's...

Are supposed to be one of the only days we have to sleep in. Guess who decided to keep his 6 am wake up?? Jon...Ayyee....to make matters worse I had the migraine from heck. It was a LONG hard morning. Jon wouldnt return back to sleep. No matter how hard I tried to convince him. Then he wanted Eggs & Toast !! So with my pounding headache I made him his breakfast and then Jim got home from duty. He convinced me to take an Excedrin Migraine pill and sit for about 40 minutes. I didnt want to SIT but my body made me do it. After about 30 min...I felt better. So we got dressed and off we went to buy Marin a dress for Homecoming. We were there for a few hours but we finally narrowed it down to 2 choices...The red one or the purple one. Both of which were lovely. She choose the purple on. I loved it. We ate lunch in the mall and then trotted back off to get James a new shirt and a tie. Also in purple. Must be the "in" color. I cooked Jims favorite for dinner and then we went off to the beach. We got there in time to see the sunset, play ball w/ our 4 legged kids and go get ice cream at Sonic. Our weekends are winding down. We have 1 more Saturday left then Jim will be gone. Missing many many Saturdays. So I am happy that my migraine subsided and we made the best of it.

Its starting....

I didnt write today...I havent been in the greatest of moods. I was just wanting Friday to come and go. Jim has duty. Duty is every 3 days now. When we are down to the last few days before he leaves us again for a 6 month deployment, duty every 3 days is keeping me completely disgruntled. YES...unhappy and frustrated. I hate this 'time'...the time we have left before D DAY happens. Its so bittersweet and its just sad. I want to stop the hands on the clock. I want to scream...we have so done our time. 21 years and I am ready for a normal life. Now the insomnia has struck. That is what happens when Jim leaves. My brain is working 100x's faster and no matter how early I try to get in bed. No matter what I drink, read and watch on TV. The insomnia comes. It will stay until he is back home. Safe and sound. This deployment Jim will miss it all. He will miss Jon's 6 birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. He wont be here to Ring in the New Year, Valentines Day, My 40th birthday and our 21st wedding anniversary. He will miss so much and we will miss so much time together. We will miss our daddy. So...its starting...the insomnia is in full swing and right now while he sits on that ship for duty...I am missing him.

Theme for the day...LATE

YEah....Late...My alarm did ring. I looked at it and shut it off. I rolled back over *thinking* I would sleep for just a few more minutes. Yeah...NO...I woke up at 35 min. later. Poor Jon. I ran to his room and ripped some clothes out of his closet all the while enocuraging Jonathon to RISE & SHINE. If you know any autistic child, you know fast is not thier forte. But Jonathon totally stepped up. He got out of bed, went to my bathroom and then back to where I was to 'help' him get dressed. He piggybacked his way downstairs with me where he ate a muffin and milk. I packed a super fast lunch, put shoes on and sent him back upstairs to brusha brusha his teeth. With his hair combed and his backpack by the door we waited. If you can believe it...the bus came late too. Thank heavens...James and Marin also were late. No alarm seemed to rise the Haffner household today. I am left wondering if Jim made it to work on time today. Just out of curiosity.

On the agenda today is some scrapping. I am going to start searching for some pictures to place in my mom's calendar. I would like for that to be completed as soon as I can. I still have JD's summer visit book to accomplish and my own layouts that seem to always fall behind. Marin has student teaching at dance. Dinner needs to be made and James has a football game. Its away at Bishop Snyder so I probably wont be seeing him until later on tonight. If we are lucky Jim will make it home for dinner again. With only a few dinner's left before he leaves for a 6 month deployment. They are really really important and every minute counts...even if your late.

Its MIDWEEK

AAHHH...its Wednesday. That's midweek :) Midweek can be just as tricky and busy as any other part of the week. But I don't know why Wed. always makes me feel that its halfway over but its does. I can probably say if I have a favorite day of the week it would be WEDNESDAY !! yeah.

Today has been exceptionally lazy. Don't have too many of those days but it is. I slept in. Jonathon was in my bed last night. When Jon is in our bed...you know it. I have arms, legs, head everywhere. He is restless and I often wonder how he gets any rest himself w/ all that moving about. Jon usually comes and finds my room when Jim isn't home. Jimmy had duty and well...there he goes busting the door down and squeezing in w/ me. I asked him why he was in my bed and not in his own and his response was "because I love u too much Mommy" How do you send that sweet boy back to his bed. Yeah...I didn't !!

So on the agenda besides sleeping in, is a shower, dinner, dance and finally HOME. Jim should be here when I leave. If we are lucky we can have dinner together as a family. But time will tell. Hey....its Wednesday. Maybe its my lucky day too.

My 1st post at 11:30?? Thats Just like me

I should be resting. 5:30 am comes so fast and its hard to believe that its time to start the day yet again when that alarm rings. I remembered I started this blog sometime in Jan. 2009 and THIS is my first entry. I am attempting this at night?? I am crazy....YES... uuhhh NO...I am a very busy mother. A busy mother of 3, wife to a wonderful man. But someone who's work keeps us apart. He is active duty and married to the service. That sadly wont change until retirement time. I am honestly looking forward to that day with bells on. This busy mom needs her honey. I love being married and I look forward to having a normal life. Until then...James, Marin and Jonathon keep me on my toes. James is 16 and a Jr. in school. Marin is 13 and our only girl. Jonathon is 5 and our blessing. We are a goofy, happy family. We have our ups, downs and everything in between. So...That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Because I am Bren...I LIVE every day to the fullest...LAUGH big ol' belly giggles and LOVE my family with all of my inner being. Welcome to my blog world...
