2010 CaLeNdAr

Here is my swap 2010 calendar. Dee Dee made it and it is so nice....I really liked it. We swapped our calendars at the holiday get together at my house on 12/5. I am finally getting to post pics....HAPPY 2010.

SECRET SISTER

I belong to a ANOTHER scrap group called the Heart of Georgia Scrappers. The HOGS for short.  Its a much larger group ( 80+) and I really only get to see them about once or twice a year. We usually meet at retreat and have loads of fun. These ladies mean an awful lot to me. They are so...wonderful and caring. They are bright, creative spirits that I just hold dear to my heart. I always look forward to any contact from them. I try to 'keep up' even though I am a long distance gal. Last year, my friend Denise had a swap for secret sisters. I signed up. We got a small bio of info and off we went. I have enjoyed the giving so much. I have also recieved the neatest things at just the right time. It never failed when I was down or low in my spirit...a small box with love would be waiting for me. This month was no different. This month my sister sent a big box. She sent the 12 days of christmas. All wrapped and numbered. It was so special I almost cried. With all that I have been doing....I havent enjoyed the Holidays. They have been overwhelming and a bit stressful. Its hard flying solo 24-7. I am missing Jim and feeling like I have a never ending list. I have strapped tires on my legs and go go go go. Who will do it if I dont. I have 3 kiddo's who depend on me. I cant let them down. So...It sure was nice that my sister took the time out to bring me some sunshine once a day for the next 12 days. I am grateful and touched by this super sweet gift from a awesome person. I just hope I have been as awesome of a sister as I have had.

JUST SO SWEET....I LOVED IT

Chics...were here !!

I moderate a local group of ladies. We are called the SCRAPFABULOUS CHICS. There are about 24 of us. Not  a huge group but a fun group of ladies. We are all bond by our love for a favorite hobby...scrapbooking. We meet once a month at different stores and we have swaps, exchanges and do fun activities. Its a nice time just for ME. I give to 3 kids, a house and a loving husband so I try to always do something for me. 1 day a month...and I dont feel guilty about it. We just had our Holiday get together at my house, and I was so honored to have my group here. What a GREAT TIME. Everyone brought a dish to share. I made a lasagna and some garlic bread. There was plenty of desserts and appetizers. We exchanged our calendars for 2010. WHAT AN AWESOME SWAP. Everyone's calendar was unique and beautiful. I love mine and I will post pics of it. We also had a small scrappy gift exchange. We end this year in a a wonderful get together. Women supporting women due to one small love of scrapbooking. This hobby is unique. We cherish are old memories and make new ones ...to scrap later, all the while nuturing a friendship.  Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Chics.

Its all about the giving...

My mom is very thoughtful and giving. Dont get me wrong we have ups and downs like any other family members. But she has always had a huge giving heart. Everyone says that about me as well. I dont really see it but I recall how much my mom GIVES to everyone and everything and I know it must be somewhat truthful. I had a great example of giving from her. From taking in immigrants who speak no english, to making meals for friends, caring for animals and so much more. My mom is a GIVER. She takes pleasure knowing that she has done for you. I am the same WAY....I love to spread the joy and I am all about anything I can do for you/ help you or give you. Sometimes thats not appreciated but mostly it is.

Today I came home to a GIFT. Right before the Holidays?? YUP....from my mom. She remembered a conversation we had about certain stoneware from QVC I really liked. My mom and I also share our love for the kitchen. It was a sweet, short conversation that I thought nothing about until I came home to this huge box in my doorway. When I opened it...there was the 13 piece temptations oven-to-table stoneware I had chatted about. Without even looking at the form I knew where it came from and who gave it to me. MOM.
Because she is always always about giving in anyway she can. I love you mom.

Your heart will lead you home...

We had a great time at my Mom's. So happy to have seen everyone and help with the cooking. The kids loved my mom and dads new golf cart. They rode that silly thing all day and night. Jon was wore out. I sat back watched and took it all in. Its so very TRUE...Your heart always leads you back HOME. It may not be the HOME you were raised in but its the home where your family LIVES. Because thats in your heart. So Thankful and So Blessed. Jim called a few days after the holidays. Thats where our heart is always thinking of him.
